During the school year, there is also mid-week programming available for the whole family, including your children.
FAQ
Have questions? We have the answers!
If you are visiting Couts on Sunday, there is special visitor parking located on Edna St. near the entrance. If you are visiting Couts on Wednesday evening, you can park along the street on E. Weatherford St. There are also several parking lots available. Handicapped parking is located on Edna St. and E. Weatherford St.
Yes! We have a nursery for children birth - 4 years old with two MinistrySafe trained adults to care for your child. You will fill out a nametag with contact information in case of an energency and receive a "claim check" with a matching number to help us safely and positively connect you back to your child following worship. The nursery is open beginning at 9:15am for both Sunday School and Worship. You are also welcome to start your child off in the Sanctuary if you would like, and then go to the nursery if you need. Whatever works best for you and your child!
Our Sunday Morning worship is at 10:30AM. People usually start arriving around 10:15AM. It is held in the Sanctuary/Worship Center which is on Edna Street. You will enter through Entrance A. If you are unable to "do" stairs, there is an entrance directly into the Sanctuary to the left of Entrance A. Entrances B on Walnut Street and D on Weatherford Street are also handicap accessible but have a longer walk once indoors.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU
Couts Methodist Church desires to help you connect in service. If you would like to volunteer in our children or youth ministry, you will need to be MinistrySafe trained, which includes passing a background check.
There are many other areas of ministry involvement from hospitality, technology, meals, and more! If you'd like more information about a ministry area, please contact Rev. Holly Dittrich.
We offer Holy Communion the first Sunday of every month. In the United Methodist tradition, the communion table is an "open table," open to everyone. You do not have to be a certain age, a member of the United Methodist Church, or Couts UMC. It is Christ's table and everyone is welcome. We use grape juice instead of wine and we also offer a gluten free option. The ushers will direct you to come forward and the altar is open for you to pray or you may return directly to your seat.
Our main entrance on Edna Street has stairs that make it difficult for those with mobility issues to enter through that entrance. However, there is a door just to the west (left) of Entrance A that has no steps and goes directly into the Sanctuary. Additionally entrance B on Walnut Street and D on Weatherford Street are handicap accessible, but have a little longer walk once you are in the building.
